What is The Cumbrae ECO4 Project?
The Cumbrae ECO4 Project is part of a UK Government energy efficiency programme called the Energy Company Obligation (or “ECO”).
It is being delivered locally by Green Home Systems in partnership with North Ayrshire Council and Carbon Neutral Islands Cumbrae.
The Project can fund free and low cost energy efficiency measures to make your home warmer while reducing your energy bills and carbon footprint. The types of measures include:
- Insulation to your roof, walls, and floor
- New or upgraded heating such as air-source heat pumps and slimline high heat retention electric storage heaters
- Renewable measures such as solar panels (solar may not be available if you live within the Millport Conservation Area).
Cumbrae residents can apply using the application form below.
Who can apply?
This Cumbrae ECO4 Project is designed to help households who are struggling to heat their homes. Applications are now open to all Cumbrae residents who meet any of the following eligibility criteria:
- Where anyone in the household receives a specified state benefit (including Child Benefit); or
- Where the total household income is less than £31,000 per year; or
- Households who have been referred to the Project by Carbon Neutral Islands Cumbrae or Citizens Advice Scotland; or
- Where anyone in the household suffers from poor health due to cold living conditions.
This list is not exhaustive and other qualifying criteria may be available to you.
