My name is Scott Watson. I'm the Community Development Officer for the Carbon Neutral Islands project on the Isle of Cumbrae.
Millport Bowling Club has been a part of the local community for over 150 years. It also hosts several clubs and organisations throughout the year, particularly in the winter months.
Green Home Systems were working as part of the ECO4 Flex Scheme, working with domestic households on improving their energy efficiency, lowering energy bills, and also helping to decarbonise, which was a big part of the Carbon Neutral Islands project.
Millport Bowling Club had a dated heating system—it was an oil system. They wanted to decarbonise, improve the energy efficiency of that system, and more importantly, make the clubhouse a lot warmer.
Green Home Systems were able to do that, installing an air source heat pump, rooftop solar, and a battery storage system. Everything was in-house—they dealt with it from the start to the very finish, and the aftercare was superb.
They didn’t just install the system and then leave. They really cared about making sure the system was running efficiently, making sure that the customer was happy, and more importantly, that they understood how to use the system as well.
The experience of working with Green Home Systems was superb.
