Solar Battery Storage
Make the most of the energy you generate.
Store the electricity produced by your solar panels so you can use it later – day or night. With a solar battery you save more, waste less, and take greater control of your home’s energy use.

How Solar Batteries Work
A solar battery stores the excess electricity generated by your solar panels, so you can use it later when your panels aren’t producing power in the evening or overnight.
During daylight hours, your solar panels generate electricity. Your home uses what it needs first, and then any surplus energy is automatically directed to your solar battery. The battery stores that unused electricity as direct current (DC) power. Once full, any further excess can be exported to the grid.
When your panels aren’t generating enough – for example, at night – the stored energy in your battery is converted back into alternating current (AC) and used to power your home.
If your stored energy runs out, your home automatically draws electricity from the grid as normal, so you’ll never be without power.
Solar batteries effectively extend the benefits of your solar panels around the clock, increasing your self-consumption of clean energy and reducing the amount you buy from the grid.
Benefits of Solar Battery Storage
Store energy, cut costs, and gain independence with a solar battery system.
Use more of your own energy
Instead of exporting excess power, store it for when you need it.
Reduce your bills further
Draw less electricity from the grid, day and night.
Purchase off-peak energy
Buy energy to fill your battery when tariffs are cheaper.
Be future-ready
Works perfectly with new or existing solar panels and integrates with EV chargers.

Solar Battery & Solar Panels
A storage battery on its own is a smart upgrade – but combined with solar panels, it’s transformative.
Together, they create a self-sustaining energy system from where you can generate clean power during the day, store what you don’t use, and run your home from renewable energy around the clock.
If you already have panels installed, we can retrofit a battery to your existing system. If you’re starting from scratch, we’ll design a combined solar and storage package that delivers the best return on investment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?
Yes. Most existing systems can be upgraded with a battery to maximise efficiency, but you will require a hybrid inverter for it to be compatible.
How much storage do I need?
This depends on your energy usage – average household usage is 7.4kW per day. We’ll recommend the right size based on your consumption and solar generation.
Do solar batteries work in winter?
Yes. Even when generation is lower, batteries store what you do produce – and help reduce grid use year-round.
Will my battery need maintenance?
Batteries are low maintenance. We provide all guidance and aftercare to keep your system running efficiently.
How long do solar batteries last?
Typically between 10-15 years, depending on use and manufacturer.
