The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a UK Government energy efficiency and fuel poverty programme designed to support eligible households by helping them reduce energy bills and become more environmentally friendly. It has been running since 2013 and has installed over 4 million measures in 2.5 million homes across the UK. Our eligibility calculator is a simple way to find out what help is available to you.

There are many green energy sources available on ECO4 including air source heat pumps, insulation and, solar panels.

Am I eligible for ECO4?

ECO4 grants are available to all UK households where at least one occupant receives one of the following state benefits:

  • Income based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Pension Credit Savings or Pension Credit Guarantee
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Child tax Credit
  • Universal Credit
  • Housing Benefit
